Character Profile: Daijuuji Kurou

With translation under way and technical production beginning, we’re excited to begin a series of profiles featuring the people, places, and concepts of Demonbane (introduction), the first collaborative game project coming to you from Nitroplus and JAST USA.
As Demonbane’s protagonist, Daijuuji Kurou runs an unsuccessful detective service in a secluded corner of Arkham City. He barely scrapes by from day to day, living off of small commissions and the good graces of his friend Leica, a nun whose (well meaning) lectures he endures in exchange for her hospitality.
Kurou’s life changes dramatically when he receives an assignment from Hadou Ruri, leader of the powerful Hadou Financial Group. She hires him to find a grimoire of ancient power – but instead he encounters the mysterious girl Al Azif, a fateful meeting that plunges him into the depths of an unimaginable conflict with the destructive Black Lodge syndicate and its leader, Master Therion.
Together with Al, Kurou must unlock his potential as a wielder of arcane forces and take his place as the destined pilot of Demonbane, the Deus Machina-class giant robot that is the only force capable of keeping the creations of the Black Lodge’s maniacal Doctor West at bay.
As Kurou you will navigate relationships with Al, Leica and Ruri, as well as the other enigmatic heroines of Demonbane, while discovering the dark mysteries of the ancient occult that lie sleeping beneath the streets of Arkham City. The city’s salvation is in your hands – as are the hearts of those you come to love.
